Greybarn Residents, Your Chariot Awaits!

Greybarn—a community in Amityville built for Long Islanders, by Long Islanders—has launched a unique ride-sharing/group-ride service for the community’s residents. Through its partnership with Chariot, a luxury transportation service offered by Ford, Greybarn residents have an added convenience of effortlessly getting to popular destinations within proximity to their homes.

“We are excited about our partnership with Chariot and being able to provide this new service to the residents of Greybarn,” said Mitchell Rechler, co-managing partner of Rechler Equity Partners. “From the time Greybarn was only a concept, we knew connectivity to the area’s downtowns and transportation hubs was going to be a vital amenity to provide to our residents. This day has been long awaited, but we know this service will be well worth the wait.”

Not only does the service offer a more eco-friendly way of traveling, Chariot is focused on creating a transit solution that relieves congestion while offering a comfortable, personalized commuting experience. Over the summer, Greybarn’s leadership surveyed all of the community’s residents to generate feedback on the area’s destinations most important to them. The survey’s results produced the plan to provide shuttle service to the Farmingdale Long Island Rail Road station during peak a.m. and p.m. hours. In addition, the survey found that most residents were interested in the nightlife in Babylon Village; leading to the development of roundtrip shuttle service on Friday and Saturday evenings.

“After receiving a strong response from our resident survey, we knew which destinations to include in this program in order to make it a success,” added Gregg Rechler, co-managing partner of Rechler Equity Partners. “The Town of Babylon has so many great dining, nightlife and shopping options available and we’re happy to provide a service that will connect our residents with everything their new hometown has to offer.”
