Girl Scouts To Showcase Cookies At Chocolate World Expo

ScoutNews_AGirl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) will showcase eight varieties of the ever-popular Girl Scout Cookies at Chocolate World Expo on Sunday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City will feature tastings and gourmet chocolates, baked goods, specialty foods, cheeses, gelato, wines and more.

Tickets can be purchased in advance, $15 for adults and $10 for children (ages 2-12), or purchased at the door at $20 for adults and $15 for children. Tickets include admission to the expo itself and full admission to the museum’s fascinating exhibits.

ScoutNews_B“We are so excited to return for our second year and give attendees an opportunity to sample and purchase Girl Scout Cookies,” said Donna Ceravolo, executive director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “We will have all six of our classic varieties: Thin Mints, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Samoas, Tagalongs and Savannah Smiles, in addition to the most recently added cookies, Rah-Rah Raisin and Toffee-tastic.”

The day of fun will also feature performances by Mentalist Oz Pearlman and demonstrations by celebrity chefs Tony Albanese, Scottish Francis, Barret Beyer and Larry Rosenberg. As an added treat, the GSNC Chorus is expected to perform. The number of seats available per show in the Cradle of Aviation’s Giant Dome Theater is 300, and these seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability of seats cannot be guaranteed.

ScoutNews_CThe Girl Scout Cookie program is a key part to the Girl Scouting leadership experience. Much more than a way to generate money, the cookie program is a hands-on entrepreneurial opportunity that lasts far beyond the cookie season. Proceeds from the cookie sales stay in Nassau County to fund local Troop and Council activities.

Visit the expo’s website (www.chocolateworldexpo.com) for information on the Chocolate World Expo or to purchase tickets to the event. Anyone looking to buy a delicious box of Girl Scout Cookies can find the nearest Girl Scout Cookie booth sale during Cookie season, visit www.gsnc.org and use the Cookie Booth Locator tool or download the Cookie Finder app for your iOS or Android phone or tablet and enter your zip code in the “Find Cookies!” tool.
