Nine Girl Scouts from the Elmont Association (Natalie, Isabella, Mackenzie, Samantha, Alex, Elysian, Jessica, Kim and Emma) served as Color Guard for Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages’ 2017 Women of Distinction ceremony, held in Stewart Manor on March 12.

The Scouts began flag handling and marching training last month, with help from Boy Scout Leader Peter Margiotta. The Scouts were privileged to carry the flag in an event that honors women, pictured with Assemblywoman Solages (left) and New York State Department of Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia, who served as one of the guest speakers at the event.
