More than 40 Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) are ready to strut down the runway at Roosevelt Field during their first ever “Cookie Creations Cookie Box Fashion Show” on Saturday, Jan. 30. More than 100 Scouts worked independently or in groups, turning Thin Mints, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Samoas, Tagalongs, Savannah Smiles, Rah-Rah Raisin and Toffee-tastic boxes into wearable upcycled, fashion-forward apparel and accessories.

“This is our council’s first time holding this event, and we are so impressed by the ensembles and accessories we’ve seen,” said GSNC Executive Director and CEO Donna Ceravolo. “This experience will not only show our girls what they are capable of, but also participating in the fashion show will further build their confidence.”

Bundle5All Nassau County Girl Scouts between the ages of 5 and 18 years old were invited to submit an entry of their one-of-a-kind creation, using 5 to 20 cookie boxes on their works of art.

“The ‘Cookie Creations Cookie Box Fashion Show’ is sure to be a great entertainment experience for our guests,” said Nancy Gilbert, director of mall marketing for Roosevelt Field. “We’re excited to collaborate with Girl Scouts of Nassau County and host an event that encourages young girls to express their creativity and have fun.”
