Plans are in motion for the 60th anniversary of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce’s Easter Sunday Vintage Car Parade to be held on Sunday, April 5. The parade will step off on Franklin Avenue at Tenth Street with antique, classic and special interest cars throughout the metropolitan area expected to participate in the lineup.
Spectators are welcome to preview the hundreds of vintage car specimens at the staging area in parking field No. 9E on Franklin Avenue between Ninth and Tenth Streets from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the parade steps off. The procession of cars will head south on Franklin and west on Seventh Street to Hilton Avenue where it will disperse.
The Banjo Rascals will wander among the crowds providing twangy tunes throughout the car exhibit. During the parade, the band will re-appear on Seventh Street along with the wandering Easter Bunnies bearing lollipops for the kids (courtesy of the Garden City Kiwanis Club).
For information and car registration open to the first 200 applicants, please call Liz at the Chamber at 516-746-7724, ext. 101. For further details, please visit www.GardenCityChamber.org.
