Garden City Restaurant Particpates In Fall Truffle Festival To Benefit No Kid Hungry

Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas, specializing in small plates that put modern twists to Italian classics and fine wines from around the world, today announced the return of its annual Fall Truffle Festival menu at its The Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City location. Available from Nov. 1-30, this five-course tasting menu incorporates the unique flavors of the iconic black truffle—one of the most desirable gourmet foods available throughout the world—while supporting No Kid Hungry’s campaign to end childhood hunger.

According to Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit working to end hunger in the United States with No Kid Hungry, one in six children in the United States face hunger. Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas will donate a portion of the proceeds from its Fall Truffle Festival menu to No Kid Hungry to support the fight to end childhood hunger and provide children with the food they need. Specifically, the restaurants will donate $1 for each dish sold from the Fall Truffle Festival menu, or $5 when guests order the full five-course tasting menu.

“Our truffle festival menus are a staple in our restaurants that our guests look forward to each year,” said Regan DeBenedetto, director of operations, Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas. “We are always looking for ways to give back to our local communities and are proud to be able to support No Kid Hungry with this special menu.”

The full Fall Truffle Festival menu includes:

• Warm Truffle Farro Salad – Roasted mushrooms, scallions, fried egg. Paired with a San Matteo Gavi.

• Truffle Burrata Cannelloni – with shaved black truffles. Paired with a Damilano Arneis.

• Funghi Risotto – Mascarpone cheese, shaved black truffles. Paired with a Pico Maccario ‘Lavignone’ Barbera.

• Mini Osso Bucco – Truffle potato puree, sage gremolata. Paired with a Produttori del Barbaresco.

• Chocolate Cheesecake – Black truffle Chantilly cream. Paired with a Fizz 56 Brachetto Spumante.
