FREE DENTAL CARE AVAILABLE FOR VETERANS & ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY

Helping Hands Dental Foundation (HHDF) – a nonprofit organization in Glen Cove – announced free dental care for veterans, active duty military and their immediate families.
“Free dental care and exams, are just one more way in which to honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who served and sacrificed for our freedom,” said County Executive Ed Mangano. “I thank Helping Hands Dental Foundation, and their sponsors, for their generosity and commitment to serving our veterans.”

Through corporate and individual donations, five volunteer dentists from Helping Hands Dental Foundation offer free dental examinations and teeth cleaning, as well as screenings for oral cancer.
Free basic necessities such as toothbrushes and paste are also offered by the organization. Veterans and active duty military in need of dental care or screenings should call Dr. Victoria Ortiz at 516-242-5014.
To further assist veterans, Helping Hands Dental will be offering these free services to veterans at Nassau County’s Veterans Stand Down on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the Freeport Armory from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be the sixth Nassau County Stand Down in which Helping Hands Dental assists veterans with dental care. For additional information about the Veterans Stand Down or other services available to Nassau County veterans, contact the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency at 516-572-6560.
