The Fifth Annual Emerald Summit, hosted by Moxxie Mentoring Foundation, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Carlyle on the Green, Bethpage State Park.

This event has quickly become one of the premier events of the year on the professional career development and networking scene. This year, Northwell Health is the presenting sponsor with keynote speaker Marissa Shorenstein, AT&T president for the state of New York; a panel of three respected professionals: Mehr Grewal, agency development manager of global marketing solutions at Google, Christine M. Riordan, PhD., president, Adelphi University and Jessica Tollkuhn, PhD., assistant professor of neuroscience, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory; with WABC-TV Eyewitness News LI Correspondent Kristin Thorne as emcee and panel moderator.

“We are extremely honored to have Northwell Health as our presenting sponsor this year,” said Moxxie’s founder, Beth Meixner. “Our philosophy at Moxxie has always been to develop young women into strong, confident and effective emerging leaders with a heart that welcomes diversity and philanthropy.”

Moxxie Mentoring Foundation uses proceeds from the Emerald Summit to offset costs of their unique mentoring programs.

“Our speakers are strong and compassionate business executives and will be dynamic speakers for the corporate, academic, nonprofit, entrepreneurial leaders and emerging leaders in the audience,” Meixner added.

Hundreds of Long Island’s most successful professionals are expected to attend and take part in the networking, raffle sales and exhibitor gallery. More importantly, they will be attending the event to endorse Moxxie Mentoring Foundation’s leadership programs through mentoring, hear from renowned speakers, and support the organization’s outstanding mentors and mentees receiving the prestigious Purple Pump Award. The opportunity to meet these Long Island professionals in one venue makes the Emerald Summit the place to be on Oct. 27.

Previous Emerald Summit luncheons featured Nancy Slavin, senior vice president, marketing, Macy’s Private Brands; Esther Fortunoff-Greene, owner and president, Fortunoff Fine Jewelry; Jonathan Kuttin, private wealth advisor, Kuttin Wealth Management; Anna Beninger, director of research at Catalyst, Inc.; Barbara Annis, world-renowned expert on gender intelligence and inclusive leadership; Winifred B. Mack, regional executive director of Northwell Health’s North Shore LIJ Health System; Thomas J. Killeen, corporate and banking partner at Farrell Fritz, PC; Amy Siskind, president of The New Agenda and Debra Borchardt, market analyst at TheStreet.com. Additional nationally recognized speakers included Marsha Haygood, president of StepWise Associates LLC; Ellen Karis, political humorist, aka Greek Goddess of Comedy; Janet C. Salazar, president of MVI Advisors; and Laura Schroff, author of An Invisible Thread.
