Sunday evening classes examine Zionist thought and history
Rabbi Molly Karp Leads Discussions at Congregation Tifereth Israel in Glen Cove at 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, March 3, March 17 and April 21
The public is invited to attend.
Rabbi Molly Karp, a noted Jewish educator, leads discussions of the writings of Zionists Moses Hess, Theodor Herzl, Ahad Ha-Am, Martin Buber, Chaim Weismann, David Ben-Gurion and many others on four Sunday evenings at Congregation Tifereth Israel (CTI) in Glen Cove. The 7 p.m. classes are on Jan. 20, March 3, March 17 and April 21. Prior knowledge is not needed. There is no charge for the classes but donations are encouraged to support Rabbi Karp’s honorarium.
Rabbi Karp, the spiritual leader of Temple Beth El in Oneonta, N.Y., holds a BA in Judaic Studies from SUNY-Binghamton, an MA in Religious Education from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, and has pursued doctoral studies in Hebrew Bible at the Jewish Theological Seminary. She was ordained as a rabbi by the Academy for Jewish Religion. Rabbi Karp is a faculty member at the Gold Och Academy in New Jersey and teaches Torah, Hebrew and other aspects of Judaism at many other venues, including CTI.
