Rally To Stop the Williams Pipeline
August 14 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
There will be a rally in front of Senator Todd Kaminsky’s office on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from noon to 1 p.m.
The proposed Williams pipeline would carry fracked gas under New York Harbor. If built, the project would increase New York’s reliance on fossil fuels, promote fracking, endanger coastal communities and marine life, and fuel the climate crisis.
Fortunately, Governor Cuomo has the authority to block this dangerous project.
Join Long Islanders in sending a message to Cuomo as well as Senator Kaminsky: Stop the Williams pipeline!
For more information, visit www.stopthewilliamspipeline.org.
More than 25,000 comments opposing the pipeline were submitted to Governor Cuomo’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) in just 6 short weeks this summer.
In May, Governor Cuomo’s DEC rejected a critical water quality permit for the pipeline- temporarily stopping the proposal. But Williams Company quickly reapplied, and the project is back up for consideration.
Join in to send a loud message: there’s no room for the Williams fracked gas pipeline in a world facing a climate crisis. Senator Todd Kaminsky must demand that Governor Cuomo must stop the Williams fracked gas pipeline once and for all and implement renewable alternatives now.
