Elmont Home Burglarized

A man has been arrested in connection with an occupied burglary that occurred in Elmont on August 13 at 11:30 a.m.

Police say Jarrell Green, 17, of Elmont, entered a residence on Freeman Ave. by cutting the screen of a rear kitchen window.  Once inside, police say Green proceeded to a bedroom on the second floor where a female victim, 22, was asleep.  The victim heard noise in the room, opened her eyes and saw Green in her bedroom, attempting to open a suitcase on the floor, according to police.

The intruder stood up, made eye contact with the victim and fled the house in an unknown direction without proceeds.

No injuries were reported.

After identifying the defendant, Fourth Precinct police officers located Green on Thursday, August 14 in front of his residence and placed him under arrest. He is being charged with Burglary 2nd Degree.
