Elmont Bank Robbed


Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Elmont on May 16.

Police say at 1:36 p.m.,  an unknown subject entered the Apple Bank located at 1693 Hempstead Turnpike, approached an employee and presented a demand note.  After waiting several seconds for the teller to comply, the subject left the bank without any proceeds.  The subject fled the bank on foot heading southwest through the bank parking lot and then south on Sewanee Avenue.  There were six employees and no customers present at the time of the robbery.  No injuries were reported.

The subject is described as a black man in his thirties, approximately 5’8”, wearing a dark colored hoodie style sweatshirt with two large skulls on the front, a dark colored baseball cap, sunglasses and blue jeans.
