Elevate Opens At Nassau Community College

elevateThe Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery at Nassau Community College Presents Elevate on Tuesday, Sept. 2 through Thursday, Nov. 13.

Elevate examines the exposed beauty of the art process and the unspoken strength in elements tactile and textile.

During the exhibition, artists Carolyn Salas, Rachel Mica Weiss and Monika Zarczena will use materials that remind the viewer of the forces that drive creation. The process frees the substances from their definitions as mechanisms of construction and utility and challenges viewers’ expectations while examining architectural themes.

The Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery at Nassau Community College is in room 140 of the College Center Building. The exhibits are free and open to the public. For details, call 516-572-0619.
