East Meadow Deli Held Up

Robbery Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in East Meadow on May 9 at midnight.

According to detectives, a man armed with a black handgun entered Route 24 Deli located at 1820 Hempstead Tpke., approached the male clerk and demanded cash from the registers.  The victim complied and handed over money. The subject fled the store on foot eastbound towards Coolidge Dr., according to police.

There was one additional employee and no customers present in the store at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.

The subject is described as a male white, 5’8”-5’9” tall, 150 lbs., wearing a black mask, black hooded sweat jacket, beige pants and black shoes.  No further description is available.
