Dr. Michelle Yao Now Full-Time Ophthalmologist

Michelle Yao, MD, is now a full-time board certified ophthalmologist at Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI). She is an eye doctor specializing in laser cataract surgery, LASIK surgery, and diabetic and family eye care from school-age children to senior citizens. Yao is also fluent in Chinese.

“We are pleased to have Dr. Yao on our team on a full-time basis,” said Joseph Bacotti, MD of OCLI’s Mineola office. “She has proven to be a great addition to our continuing efforts to meet and exceed our patients’ needs in the Mineola community.”

Yao received her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School and completed her residency in ophthalmology at Kansas University in Prairie Village, KS. Yao is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Long Island Ophthalmological Society and the New York State Ophthalmological Society.

Yao attends many continuing education courses including the ASCRS winter conference, Ocular Surgery News meeting, AAO annual meeting, and Scientific Frontiers in the Practice of Comprehensive Eye Care at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
