Crash Snarls Traffic In Franklin Square


A two car crash snarled traffic at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Franklin Gate in Franklin Square on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m., Nassau County Police confirmed to Long Island Weekly.

One mini-van and a two-door car collided in the intersection, before hit a street sign and crashing into a tree on the center median at Franklin Gate. A driver of one of the vehicles was transported to local hospital, whose condition is unknown at this time, police said. A flatbed tow truck arrived the on scene around 8:15 p.m. and began removing one of the vehicles.

An ambulance and two firetrucks were on scene at one point, assisting the drivers. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
