Police report the arrest of a Far Rockaway man for assaulting a couple in Bayview on July 5.
According to detectives, Frederick Walker, 43, during a dispute outside a Bayview Avenue residence intentionally knocked hot coals from a grill onto the sidewalk and then threw a female victim, 56, into them. A second victim, male, 59, struggled with the suspect and was also pushed onto hot coals. Both victims were removed to an area hospital where they were treated for lacerations and burn injuries to their arms, hands and legs.
