Countywide Bomb Threat

Nassau County Police Department received notification late on Sunday, Nov. 20, from an individual who claims he heard an unidentified male say he “put bombs in every school in Nassau and set them to go off tomorrow.”

This information is unconfirmed and seems unrealistic, however all schools are advised to be alert to suspicious packages and/or persons.

Parents received automated calls from their respective school districts this morning alerting them to the threat and confirming that all schools have been checked. No bombs were found.

Any suspicious packages and/or persons should be reported via 911 immediately.

Nassau County Police are intensifying patrols of all schools within the county.

If you see something, say something. If you hear something, say something.

Immediate threats should be called into 911 and tips can be called into Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.

Suspicious social media activity can also be reported through Text-a-Tip via the Nassau County Crime Stoppers app available free for smartphones and tablets.
