City College Honors Alexa Joel And Arturo O’Farrill

On Monday, May 4, The City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) will be hosting and honoring singer-songwriter Alexa Joel, Grammy Award-winning Afro-Cuban composer Arturo O’Farrill, legendary actress/dancer Carmen De Lavallade and director/screenwriter Gina Prince-Bythewood. A City College of New York student will also be awarded the Rosalind Joel Scholarship for the Performing Arts. O’Farrill is scheduled to perform with dinner and dancing to follow the concert. . The center serves as a cultural hub that builds a sense of community both within the school and its surrounding neighborhood, while inspiring creativity and diversity. It also provides a premier venue for local and national performers and for art patrons in the tri-state area. The event will be taking place at Aaron Davis Hall at W. 135th Street and Convent Avenue (129 Convent Ave.). Parking is available. Cocktail hour starts at 6 p.m., the concert and awards are at 7 p.m. Tickets are $500 and tables start at $5000. Concert-only tickets are $200.
