Challah Bake Long Island Style 2017

Come together with your friends at family at the next annual Challah Bake Long Island.

This year’s Challah Bake Long Island Style has many new surprises and features in store. Taking place on Wednesday evening Nov. 1 at The Sands Atlantic Beach, attendees can expect a new style of decor as they are transported into the tents of Sarah, Avraham and Yitzchok of Bible fame.

The fourth annual event anticipates a record crowd. Last year, more than 1,300 Long Island women participated.

Tovah Feldshuh, the four-time Tony and two-time Emmy nominated actress, singer and playwright, will share her wisdom and thoughts on being a Jewish actress, via video broadcast.

Elizabeth Kurtz, cookbook author and founder of, will lead participants in the steps to make delicious challah.

Slovie Jungreis Wolff will share her insights into the spiritual nature of challah, and joyful singing and dancing will take place while the dough rises.

Participants in the challah bake will each receive an apron and a booklet of challah recipes. This year, each table will have an assortment of challah to taste as well.

Space for the Challah Bake Long Island Style is limited, so reserve a place for yourself, family and friends.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1, and the program begins at 7:30 p.m. The Sands is located at 1395 Beech Street in Atlantic Beach.
