Detectives arrested a Central Islip resident for stabbing another man early on the morning of June 6.
According to police, Reginald Bonelli was involved in a physical altercation with a 23-year-old man while they were visiting the home of a mutual friend at 173 Powell Avenue, Central Islip. During the fight, Bonelli allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck with a broken beer bottle.
The victim, who also resides in Central Islip, suffered a severe laceration to the neck and was transported via Central Islip-Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Bonelli, 29, of Powell Avenue, was arrested and charged with assault in the 2nd degree. He was arraigned on June 16 at First District Court in Central Islip.
