The event is a free community service program that focuses on patient education, featuring an overview of the latest developments in breast cancer detection, treatment, and reconstruction. The keynote speech will be delivered by Shannon Miller, seven-time Olympic Medalist, cancer survivor, author and philanthropist.

Simpson, MD, FACS, president of Long Island Plastic Surgical Group. “Through this annual event we offer free information about innovative breast cancer treatment, the latest cancer research, and other new advances in the fight against cancer.”

“We know that there is a wealth of information online,” said Matthew S. Kilgo, MD, FACS. “But the Breast Cancer Summit provides authoritative information in an environment where people can talk, listen, ask questions, network and support one another.”

The event attracts hundreds of attendees each year, including cancer experts, researchers, doctors, nurses, breast cancer survivors and advocacy groups. The program will be hosted by hosted by Kristin Thorne, WABC-TV Eyewitness News correspondent, and will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend the event in person.
