Boater Rescued In Freeport

A 51-year-old male boater was rescued in Freeport after he suffered from chest pains while on the water May 18.

Polices say they received a 911 call for the man who was in Long Creek at 8:40 p.m.  w

A police helicopter was dispatched to the area and located the vessel. They directed Nassau County Marine 6 to the location at which time they transported the victim to Guy Lombardo Marina where a Nassau County Ambulance removed him to a local hospital.

The victim’s boat was towed to an area marina.
