Bicyclist, Driver Injured In East Hills Crash

Police are investigating a serious vehicular accident involving a bicyclist that occurred on May 18 in East Hills.

Police say at 4:20 p.m., a 34-year-old man from Forest Hills was driving a 2008 BMW westbound on Old Westbury Road when he struck a bicyclist also traveling westbound, ejecting the 51-year-old male victim.

The vehicle then struck a telephone pole causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times. The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.  The driver refused medical aid at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for brake and safety check and the investigation is ongoing.
