Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Baldwin gas station on May 18.
A white man described as 5’8” tall, thin build, wearing a black hooded jacket with gray stripes down the sleeves, black pants and a mask, entered the Citgo Gas Station located at 820 Sunrise Highway at 11:07 p.m.
Police say after selecting two items, the man approached the counter and displayed a black handgun in his right hand. He then demanded the money from the register and the 45-year-old male employee placed the cash in a black plastic bag along with the items.
The man fled on foot south on Milburn Avenue. There were no injuries reported. Police say an investigation determined the same man was involved in an attempted robbery a short time earlier in Freeport.
At 10:46 p.m., police say the man entered the Village Express Deli at 198 N. Main Street, displayed a black handgun in his waistband and demanded the 22-year-old male victim give him the money from the register. A customer entered the store and the man fled on foot west on Dean Street with no proceeds.
