Detectives report an arrest for a robbery that occurred in Lido Beach at 1:30 a.m. on June 22.
According to detectives, an 18-year-old male victim was walking on Reynolds Drive when an unknown male subject displayed a black handgun and demanded his property. The victim handed the subject his cell phone and wallet containing cash and personal papers. The subject then fled on foot, towards Lido Boulevard. Police were called to the scene and were able to apprehend the subject. Suspect Joseph Dauria, 16, of 108 Belmont Avenue, Long Beach, was placed under arrest on the corner of Lido Boulevard and Blackheath Road without incident. The suspect had a black bb gun in his possession at the time of the arrest.
Dauria is being charged with 2nd degree robbery, criminal use of a firearm in the 2nd degree, and possession of a dangerous weapon in the 4th degree. He was arraigned on June 22, in First District Court in Hempstead.
