Alice Cooper

As someone who has spent his career consistently weaving horror movie elements into the overall theatricality of his live performances, who better than Alice Cooper to have weigh in on some of his favorite spooky films?

Salem’s Lot (1979)

“That was a made-for-television miniseries with David Soul and it was one of the truly scary movies—music-wise, direction-wise—everything. Even though it was made for TV, it was truly a frightening movie. Barlow was the best vampire that I’d ever seen.”

Suspiria (1977)

“I think it is one of those movies that when you get done watching it, you just want to take a shower, because it’s just so creepy.”

The Exorcist (1973)

“We all know that Michael Meyers and Jason Voorhees are boogiemen. But the idea of possession of a little girl has actually happened. Now we have to deal with that on a different cerebral level and that’s what makes that movie scary because we think that can happen. The way it was shot, was really horrific. It was really well done.”

Alice Cooper will be appearing with Deep Purple and the Edgar Winter Band on Aug. 26 at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater, 1000 Ocean Pkwy, Wantagh. For more information, visit www.jonesbeach.com or call 800-745-3000.
