$5,000 Reward For Info About Dog Left In Bag On Side Of Road In Plainview

Steve, as he is now known, was abandoned in a bag Plainview.

The Nassau County SPCA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for abandoning this dog on the side of Washington Avenue in Plainview in a carrier bag on Tuesday night, Feb. 7 prior to the blizzard. The 1-3 year male Yorkshire terrier mix, now known as Steve, was lying in his own urine.

The Nassau County SPCA believes someone knows who abandoned this helpless dog. A spokesperson said, “We feel that it is necessary to use every available tool in fighting animal cruelty to ensure that the abusers face the maximum penalty under the law.”
