2018 Election Voters Guide—U.S. Senator Candidates For New York

Kirsten Gillibrand*

Since I entered the Senate, I have fought to clean up Washington. I have prioritized being transparent and accountable to my constituents, and was the first member of Congress to post my public schedule, earmark requests and tax returns online. To make Washington work, we have to start by creating transparency and accountability. I will always fight for your family as hard as I fight for my own. That means fighting to create apprenticeship and job training programs, providing incentives for companies that pay workers good wages, ensuring that health insurance is a right and not a privilege, and creating a universal paid family leave law.

Chele Chiavacci Farley

Chele Chiavacci Farley is a successful businesswoman with more than 25 years of experience in the private sector in the finance industry. She has worked at UBS Capital, Goldman Sachs and Mistral Capital, where she is currently a partner. A graduate of Stanford University with two degrees in Industrial Engineering, Farley lives in New York City with her husband Richard and their three sons. Chele’s platform includes recovering the $48 billion dollars lost by New York taxpayers to Washington every year, thereby lowering property taxes, increasing the $10,000 cap on SALT deductions and allowing renters to deduct their rent on their federal taxes.
