2014 Belmont Stakes Media Luncheon

CaliforniaChrome_060614As Bill Murray once famously stated in Caddyshack, it’s a Cinderella story. West Coast thoroughbred California Chrome, whose dam (or mother) was purchased for a mere $8,000, is poised to become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed pulled it off in 1978. At the 2014 Belmont Stakes Media Luncheon, the assorted members of the media were able to meet and be charmed by father/son trainers Art and Steve Sherman, soft-spoken jockey Victor Espinoza and one of CC’s owners, burly yet genial cowboy Steve Coburn.
