Galavant across Europe in Vivobarefoot Gobi Hi 2.0 leather boots.

If you’re doing some traveling this winter, you’ll need a good pair of boots to take you on your globetrotting adventures. They should be comfortable right from the start, weatherproof, insulating in cold temperatures and also stylish. Vivobarefoot’s Gobi Hi 2.0 leather boots fit the bill.

It’s kind of a cliché to call leather buttery soft, but sometimes that’s the best description, especially when it comes to this wild hide leather. Combined with the overall construction, it feels more like slipping your feet into a pair of slippers than a typical pair of boots.

Don’t let the softness fool you though. These are durable and tough. They will get you where you need to go without blisters or foot aches. I should know—these puppies took me all over Europe this fall.

The soles are made from a patented, ultra-thin, puncture resistant layer that is five times more puncture resistant than a standard sole of the same thickness. In other words, cobblestones and rugged terrain are no rival for these boots.

As far as style, you can’t go wrong. Casual enough for daytripping, nice enough for the office. You can pretty much wear them anywhere. Their minimalist aesthetic harmonizes with any outfit.

Stride across all the cobblestones, jaunt through every field and climb every fence!

The inside of these boots are lined with faux shearling and have a thermal insole, which adds an extra layer of warmth between your feet and the ground. According to Vivobarefoot, the Outlast thermal regulator, reflective foil and insulating foam give you three times the thermal protection as a normal insole. Paired with thick wool socks, you don’t have to worry about cold toes even on a snowy day.

A neat feature, though, is that the thermal insole is removable and there’s a leather footbed underneath, which extends the life of these boots beyond winter into warmer temperatures.

I really like that the laces they are smooth and round. As a result, it’s easy to loosen the boots and take them off. But they don’t loosen on their own if tied with a double knot. I also appreciate that the loop at the back is large enough to actually grab hold of when putting the boots on—it’s functional, not just decoration.

The best part about these boots and other footwear in Vivobarefoot’s collections is that they are healthy for your feet. Simply by wearing them, you will build up strength in your feet and calves by exercising muscles that other types of shoes don’t allow to do any work.

Finally, the quality is evident in the details—in the stitching, the supple leather and hook eyelets.

Beyond boots, Vivo Barefoot has a wide selection of footwear with the same kind of technology in the soles. I can already feel my brand loyalty to Vivobarefoot kicking in.
